The chest size is not your chest size but the chest measurement of the shirt. Most men are normally safe purchasing a shirt that is approximately 6" larger than their actual chest measurement, or 4" if you prefer a closer fit. Eg, if you measure your own chest and it is 40" you would purchase the 46" shirt size Medium
